Monitoring and evaluation is designed for Project/program managers. It teaches basic concepts of managing outputs, outcomes and their impact on project results. This is because, the poor management of the outputs and outcomes of projects result in objectives of projects not being realized.
The course will teach participants the ten steps to creating and managing results on projects and programs. Case study scenarios shall be used to develop working systems.
Activities, outputs, outcomes shall be created to see how all help to achieve the project goal. Participants will be given tasks and assignments. This will ensure that learning takes place.
As the success of a project is dependent on performance, a clear understanding of how to make it work will be needed for professionals in this field.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to undertake the following:
- Describe and understand the four stages in an M&E system
- Develop a framework that links project activities to outcomes and(goals)
- Develop indicators that effectively identify progress toward project
- outcomes
- Develop a system to collect and compile data
- Determine an appropriate method of analyzing, presenting anddisseminating information to different stakeholders
- Demonstrate the ability to use information to identify problems andimplement changes.
